Allah is Wahdahu, Laa Sharika Lahu.
He does not accept mixed motives. And rejects any action off hand that is not undertaken one hundred percent for his sake.
That is where American Muslims seem to have bungled the job. Many of them seem to have made Islam a meal ticket and a career path in America.
That is why the results are what they are. They just could not have been different. Because actions mean nothing without intentions.
Innamal A’amaalu Ninniyaati!
Solution?
Start with total commitment to Wahdahu, Laa Sharika Lahu. And do what one can.
Even if it is nothing more than just sit in a corner and read the Qur’an, while looking around all the time to find ways to do more.
Allah will find us when he wants us to do more and different.
But once motives are compromised, all is lost.
