An Actionplan for Muslims for Rabi'ul Awwal 1443
2021: Thursday, October 7 - Friday, November 5

Syed Husain Pasha

It will be wonderful if all Muslim men, and all Muslim women, in all places in the world, will make this blessed month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 a Month of Action.

And in Islam, and in life in general, the Key to All Action is Learning and Thinking. And Muslims must do everything in their power to make this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 a Month of Study, Analysis, Understanding and Reflection.

And in Islam, and in life in general, All Learning is Self-Learning and All Education is Self-Education.

Simple: you can take the horse to water, but unless the horse wants to do the drinking there is not a thing you can do.

That is why Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, placed the burden of Learning and Education squarely on people's own shoulders. He said: Go and get educated, even if you have to go to China to do that!

The Arabic word Utluboo is an action-packed word. It says go, search and seek and do everything in your power to find it. To find knowledge and understanding that is.

In Arabic, Knowledge is called Ilm.

Once again, simple! Unless we want to learn, and unless we want to teach ourselves, all the lectures we consume for hours and hours, may well be so many man- and woman-hours down the Mississippi River, or down the Antietam and Beaver Creeks.

So, maybe, the time has come for all Muslims in all places, Men as well as Women, to make this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 a Month of Self-Study, Research, Reasoning and Understanding.

And here is how we can all go about doing it:

  1. Devote Week One of this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 to a careful, deep and personal study of the Qur'an to see what the Qur'an has to say about Allah's Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and his Life and his Character, and his Work and his Mission on this earth.

Call this First Week the Week of Al-Qur’an was Sunnah.

  2. Use Week Two of this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 to learn directly from the Qur'an, and from the Hadith, all you can about the Methodology of Allah's Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, in this world.

I mean how Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, turned into a Living Reality, in an impossibly short span of no more than two decades – three years went in just waiting – this seemingly impossible Mission of Building a Better World for All Humanity.

Call this Week Two the Week of Al-Kitab Wal Hikmah!

  3. Dedicate Week Three of this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 to learn directly from the Qur'an, and from the Hadith, all you can about the Education System that Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, established to educate and train a new nation of Islam and Muslims in the world and to build a New and Better World for all of Humanity.

Call it the Week of Ta'leem and Tazkiyah!

  4. Dedicate Week Four of this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 to learn directly from the Qur'an and from the Hadith all you can about the Social, Political and Economic System that Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, established in this world to Make This World a More Just, a More Loving and a More Compassionate and Caring Place for All Human Beings to live, regardless of whether they were rich or poor, black or white, male or female, Muslim or non-Muslim, and irrespective of their nationalities and ethnicities.

Call this final week of this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 the Week of Rahmatul Lil-Aalameen.

  5. End this month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443 with a One-Day Conference during which all Muslims will openly and freely review and revisit and refresh and recap all that they taught themselves during this most blessed month of Rabi'ul Awwal 1443.
