Calling the Muslims Called “Islamists”
Dr. Pasha
(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)
I am not saying they don’t know.
Nor can I possibly hold any brief for those who, as men, women and children, have suffered all manner of imprisonment, torture and abuse, all for holding the beliefs they do.
And for daring to speak their beliefs and act on them.
And all this for close to 100 years.
All for just wanting to be Muslims – for wanting to live the implications of their own personal faith in their daily individual and collective lives.
Who in his or her right mind will have the nerve, the temerity, the audacity and the shamelessness to lecture people like that from the comfort and security of their living rooms?
To tell the Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) of Egypt, or anyone else in their position, what to say or how to act following their seeming but resounding electoral triumph in the recent election circus put on display by the Security Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) of Egypt is not only presumptive, it is foolish.
But “Addeen,” said Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, “Annasweehah!”
What a statement – clear indication that this Deen is from Allah.
So, I must say what I think and feel is happening. After all, I have devoted a lifetime to the investigation of some of these things.
So here is some of how I feel about what is going on – in Egypt, Tunisia, and elsewhere:
-
Muslims must stop referring to themselves and to other Muslims as “Islamists.” They must be happy and proud to call themselves “Muslims.”
Nothing more, nothing less: Just Muslims.
After all, that is an exalted title that came to them from a very high place: God Almighty.
Huwa sammaakumul Muslimeen, says the Qur’an.
There will be blessings and Barkat and glory in this divine title: Muslims.
If other Muslims take umbrage, let them.
If they feel that strongly about it, let them join the band.
“Islamist” is just another racial, ideological and political slur that the enemies of God use to insult Islam and Muslims.
They must make sure their official websites respect the integrity of the term “Muslim” and abstain from referring to themselves and other Islam-loving Muslims as “Islamists.”
-
May Allah bless them for bending over backwards to work with Tantawi and his band of generals in the SCAF in Egypt!
But they should know at the same time that these generals are Mubarak cronies and stooges! And they have been lifelong puppets in the hands of foreign Colonial Masters, who have carefully vetted and handfed each and every one of them.
So, it is naïve to think that these generals will now hand over power to the newly elected parliament without a fight. They are not likely to.
If you don’t believe me, ask someone like former president Jimmy Carter, who knows a thing or two about how this world works.
The only question is what new game they and their foreign Colonial Masters will play.
-
Foreign Colonial Masters of Muslim lands don’t have a single honest bone in their body. Their thoughts are evil and their speech is venomous.
The same is also broadly true of their mercenary media.
To expect honesty, integrity and true understanding or sympathy from them borders on insanity.
If you don’t believe me, read your Qur’an:
Laqad badatil baghdwaa-u min afwaahihim, wa maa tukhfee sudooruhum akbar.
-
They should always bear in mind that Islam and Muslims are never defeated from without – they are always damaged and defeated from within.
That is what the Hadith of Sayyidina Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, says.
And that is also what history shows.
So, they must learn to keep a wary and watchful eye on the enemies of Islam and Muslims among Muslims.
-
Learn to keep your emotions under check.
What a cruel and silly thing to say to those who have been tortured for 80 years for their emotions, thoughts and speech. But that is how it is.
Not that it really matters, but know that your slightest slip of the tongue, and your most innocent and harmless gesture, will be given the worst interpretation anyone can possibly put on it.
So, to the extent you humanly can, think carefully and speak thoughtfully.
And act with greatest circumspection and caution.
Poor late Necmettin Erbakan, the moment he became prime minister in Turkey, he took off for Libya to coddle Qaddhafi. His aides should have told him to pop off to Buckingham Palace, London, instead, to have tea with Her Majesty the Queen and her husband.
-
Keep clichés in the closet – or in the attic, or wherever. Instead, speak simple, clear language.
Shari’ah simply means law – the Rule of Law as opposed to Rule of Men.
Every society needs and has a law: Likullin ja’alnaa minkum shir’atan wa mihaajaa!
The Islamic Shari’ah, of course, is from God – like everything else Islamic. But the enemies of Islam, Muslims and humanity have made it out to be a word to be feared.
They have quite successfully equated it with everything they say in their evil propaganda is wrong with Islam and Muslims – from corporal criminal punishment under Islamic law to the life women live in Muslim societies.
So, every time you utter the word Shari’ah, it sets off alarm bells in the world.
But that is no reason for you to stop using that expression. Just be careful how you do it.
Not that it will make a difference how you use language. But Allah expects you to be as smart as you can be.
So, does the word Khilaafat have all kinds of negative and dangerous connotations in today’s propaganda-dominated world. It makes the enemies of God quake in their boots thinking of your plans and intentions.
“Aha,” they say, “we told you!”
“You see,” they scream hysterically. “They want to create a Caliphate by uniting all Muslim lands under one political umbrella.”
And that terrifies the daylight out of the wicked, the Godless and the evil.
Because, if that happens, and if Muslim countries come together under one common rubric, like the United States of America, or even like the European Union, these thugs will then not be able to plunder and pillage Muslim lands as freely as they used to.
So, the word Khilafat gives them nightmares. And they have made it the boogeyman of the modern world.
But the word Khilafat is neither here nor there. Role of a human being as God’s Khalifah (steward or representative) on earth is an important concept rooted firmly in the Qur’an.
But Khilafat as a summary name for Islamic government is a moving target.
It is a time-honored Islamic tradition for 1400 years. Not a doubt about it. But Islam is as much about the future as it is about the past.
So, bring out the meaning of that noble term Khilafat – government of the people by the people – clearly and not just use it as a cliché.
-
But here is the important point – the one that really, really matters.
It does not matter what you say: the enemies of Islam, Muslims, God and humanity will do exactly what they think they need to do to defeat and destroy you and to continue to enslave and plunder your lands.
But you must at all times speak and act in the firm and full knowledge that you are in the presence of God Almighty who hears your every thought and sees your every move.
Ya’alamu khwaa-inatal a’ayuni wa maa tukhfis-sudoor.
And you have a very simple charge from him:
No matter who says or does what, go make this world the best place you can for every Jew, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and non-believer, male or female, child or adult – and for every animal and plant and all other creation of God.
-
And, oh yes, here is one more thing: Protect Your People!
And protect all those people in whom you see any good.
Your enemies – the enemies of God, Truth and Humanity, whoever they may be – have detailed files, folders and notes on each and every one of them.
And they exist in multiple, overlapping, interlocking, duplicating networks and layers in multiples places.
So, don’t be naïve and feed the best of the best of your people – and other good people – to the wolves. And then blame it on God.
Surround each and every one of them with the best and most highly trained bodyguards.
And sweep everything and every place for bugs and listening and monitoring devices.
And for bombs and poisons and exploding devices. Hasanul Banna was shot; Ali Shari’ati was poisoned; others were blown to bits.
And become just a tad bit paranoid, without going too, too overboard. Trust who you want, but also like President Ronald Reagan used to say: “Verify!”
And know that Palestinians were sold out, often by Palestinians, and sometimes for no more than $150.
Don’t forget, no one was a more wonderful human being, and no one was nicer to his enemies – the enemies of God, Truth and Humanity – than was Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. And yet no one hated him and his work more than they did.
God bless you and his world.
