- Do the two exercises below and tell me what happens.
- Bury your Nafs as deep as you can. This is perhaps the best opportunity you have to do that.
- Bear in mind you are trying to learn the Language of Allah, Arabic.
- Allah's Language Arabic is learned with your Soul -- Rooh -- and not just with your body and mind.
- To learn the Language of Allah Arabic, and to interact with Allah's Book the Qur'an, you need to clean and polish your Soul -- Rooh -- constantly and keep it shining and sparkling.
Assignment: Pronouns
(A) Assignment One
Surah Ta-Ha
- Pick up the Mushaf -- Hard Copy of Arabic Qur'an. Remember, only Arabic is Qur'an. Translations are only that: translations.
- Go to Surah Ta-Ha -- Surah 20 -- and pick out Aayats 25-28.
- Read Aayats 25-28 loud and clear to yourself as many times as you need to -- many, many times; over and over -- till you become entirely comfortable reading and reciting them fluently to yourself and to others.
- Pick out every pronoun you can find in those Aayaat -- plural for Aayah -- whether that pronoun refers to one, two or more people, objects, or anything else.
- Clearly identify each pronoun for what it is: singular, dual, plural or what?
(B) Assignment Two:
Surah A'raaf
- Pick up the Mushaf -- Hard Copy of Arabic Qur'an. Remember, only Arabic is Qur'an. Translations are only that: translations.
- Go to Surah A'raaf -- Surah 7 -- and pick out Aayats 2-27.
- Read Aayats 2-27 loud and clear to yourself as many times as you need to -- many, many times; over and over -- till you become entirely comfortable reading and reciting them fluently to yourself and to others.
