Dr. Pasha’s Arabic sessions – Lesson: 45

Dr. Pasha's Arabic Language and Cultural Immersion Sessions -- Lesson 45

Assignment Shaitan

  1. There is no better illustration or embodiment of the best written or spoken Arabic Language than the Qur'an.
  1. This should be Apriori or Analytically true because the Qur'an is Allah's Spoken Word and Written Book
  1. That means, it should be the fundamental Assumption of all those who believe Qur'an is the Word of Allah.
  1. But when I say Qur'an is the finest and highest example of Arabic Language, written as well as spoken, I am making an empirical assertion that could be subjected to verification by human experience.
  1. And that also means another thing: There is no way to learn Arabic Language than to use the Qur'an as your Textbook
  1. And in my experience and judgment, Abdul Baqi's Al-Mu'jam Al-Mufahras is perhaps the finest and most effective tool to readily access the Aayaat -- plural for Aayat -- of the Qur'an for all those who are not Huffaaz -- plural for Haafiz -- that is, those who have memorized the Qur'an.

May Allah bless Abdul Baqi for bringing the Aayats of the Qur'an within easy reach of all of us.

  1. So, go to your Hard Copy Mu'jam and find SheenTaaNoon. And study all entries for the words Shaitan and Shayaateen.
  1. And then do the same for the word Iblees. Don't forget, Iblees will be in the Mu'jam under Ba, Lam, Seen
  1. And do so also for the word Teen. As in TaZaTa, Ya, Noon. Teen meaning clay or dirt.
  1. Learn all the Aayats in which these words occur.
  1. Read and Recite as many of those Aayaat as many times as you can.
  1. And then watch the fun.
  1. Reading is from a ScriptQiraa'at.
  1. Reciting is Reading AloudTilaawat.
