I am mostly limited to E-mail and Phone. I avoid Texting.
I must apologize to you for a lot of things. Apologize for not writing to you enough. And also apologize for writing too much.
In general, you must forgive my exuberance and seeming impatience because I am coming in, not from the Cold, but from the parched Desert, where many a promise of Water very quickly turns into a Mirage.
I told you I am perhaps one of your last living links with a certain phase of the beginning of Islam in America. After me, it will mostly be hearsay, through secondary or tertiary sources.
The fact is ever since I stepped foot on American soil, I have tried to Open Doors and Build Bridges between Islam, Muslims and America. I am still on that path. Although much battered and bruised now.
And now, I am in the Fourth Quarter -- last 12 1/2 minutes -- of my life in this world. Or maybe it is Overtime already.
But the game must go on, for, that is Allah's Law. He put Human Beings in this world to do his work. Not to walk away from the Game or to lounge on the Bench.
But now I can hear the Body creak and I can sense the Mind lunging toward the Bench every opportunity it seems to get.
But as Mr. Berra put is: It Ain't Over Till It Is Over. And it is not unusual for a last-minute 3-Pointer, in Overtime, to make the difference between a Loss and a Win.
I am saying all this not only to introduce myself, and explain why I do what I do, but also as an apology for my long emails.
But, at the same time, every word I write, at least so it has been thus far in most cases, is the product of careful thought and fairly extensive research, reasoning and analysis.
I try to fit my speech also in that mold, making sure there is close proximity between my Thought and my Speech.
Qooloo Qawulan Sadeedaa,
Yuslih Lakum A'amaalakum,
Wa Yaghfir Lakum Dhunoobakum!
"Believers!
Say it the way it is,
All your Worldly Issues will be resolved,
And you will have nothing to worry about in the Next World."
Now, All that is good in this world comes from Allah.
It has to be, if our Narrative -- and our Iman -- of God as Rabbul Aalameen is true.
I have been trying to make Muslim as well as Non-Muslim Americans see this and understand this.
Corporate America has a system of Warranty covering its products. Most people do not understand that, like All Good Things, that too came from Islam: From Qur'an and Hadith.
Allah says in the Qur'an:
Maa Nansakh Min Aayatin of Nunsihaa,
Na'ti Bi-Khayirin Minha Awu Mithlihaa,
A-Lam Ta'lam Annallaha Alaa Kulli Shay-in Qadeer?
And there is nothing better or more wonderful in this world than an Aayat of the Qur'an.
And every Aayat is a Miracle, and a Shifaa, and Noor, and Hudaa, and Rahmah. So, Allah does not give it to you and then take it away from you. It simply does not make sense.
Unless you displease him so much that your actions bring terrible retributions upon you.
But what about lesser things than an Aayat? Smaller Mercies of life as it were.
A Picnic for example, that was organized with the intention of opening Doors and Building Bridges between Islam, Muslims and the Rest of Allah's Khalq?
He gave you a promise, made you walk that path almost to the finish-line, and then took that picnic away from you due to changes in the Weather.
Do you think he is canceling your appointment and throwing you out?
That is not who he is. He is Rahmaan and Raheem.
If we take a breath, it is due to his Rahmah. And if we eat and drink and walk or sit or sleep, it is a manifestation of his Rahmah and this Infinite Divine Mercy and Love.
And he is Wahhaab. His way is to give -- and keep on giving. Give more than anything or anyone.
So, the Weather-Related Cancellation of your Picnic today to me means that you are now slated for a Picnic Day that is better and nicer and more wonderful that the one that you lost, or just at least as good.
Allah does not break his Promise. Allah does not recall his products. He does not have to.
Subhaanahu Wa Ta'aala Ammaa Yasifoon.
But we run into changes in this Duniyaa-i-Hast-o-Bood. That is how this world is designed and created.
But Allah's Word stands forever. And Allah's Word is the Law that Runs This Universe -- His Creation.
I want America to see -- and I want the rest of the world to see -- that this Product Warranty System we have created in our Business Dealings in America is nothing but a crumb from God Almighty's Table of the Qur'an.
And I want America -- and the rest of the world -- to know that there is More -- Infinitely More -- where this came from.
So, hence my emails. And hence their length. And hence my avoidance of Texting.
And hence my flood of apologies.
