Islam is three things -- in a manner of speaking: Consistency, Consistency, Consistency.
In the language of Qur'an and Hadith, it is called Istiqaamat.
Allah commands Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, to be Steadfast and Consistent.
And not to falter.
And to keep at it -- no matter how tough the going gets. And no matter how insurmountable the odds and the challenges appear to be.
And no matter how fatigued and disheartened you become.
Aayah:
Fastaqim Kamaa Umirta.
Some sorry and pathetic attempts at paraphrase -- a, b, c:
(a) "Keep your end of the bargain and do not Falter."
(b) "Stay Firm and Steady, the way you were told to do."
(c) "Remain Steadfast as you were ordered to do."
Another Aayah, in Surah Shura:
Fa-Li-Dhaalika Fad'u Wastaqim Kamaa Umirta.
Paraphrase:
"So, therefore, continue to Invite people to Allah's Path --
Do your Da'wah Work -- and Stay Firm and Unshaken as
you were commanded to do."
How much clearer do these things get!
And mind you these orders to be Steady, and Consistent, and Steadfast, and Firmly Set on the Path, and not Waver, or Falter, or Lose Concentration and Attention and Focus, are issued not just to you and me, and to everyone who dares to walk this path, but to Allah's Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, himself.
And in case you still don't get it, same orders were issued to Musa and his brother Alaihimas Salam. They were told:
Qad Ujeebat Da'watukumaa,
Fastaqeemaa!
Paraphrase:
"Your Du'a has been accepted and answered,
So make sure both of you now remain steadfast!"
So, people, Islam is all about Consistency. That means doing it now and remaining Steadfast and Keep Doing It for the next 100 years -- or more.
No matter what!
No let up. No turning back.
Once this is done, you will see the results!
