Islam Is Rising to the Standard of Zero Error:
It Is All about the Quality of People, Quality of the Effort, and Quality of the Product!
Dr. Pasha
(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time.
Trying to Take the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And Which One Does Not?)
How is it possible?
How can human beings do things with zero error? Isn't it a human axiom, and an observed human reality, to err? To slip up?
Aren't human beings likely to make mistakes in everything they do?
And isn't human existence mired in every conceivable frailty and sloppiness and imperfection?
And isn't it almost a contradiction in terms to associate Zero Error with any human situation, activity, performance or product?
So, how can we, as human beings, attain the standard of zero error in our life and in our activities?
Yes, it is all true.
But we can still make the impossible happen. And that is part of the Miracle that Islam is in every way.
And here is how.
Shoot for "perfection" in everything you do. And that, from our worldly point of view, is simply doing things to the Best of Our Abilities.
Allah is Perfection. He has to be. Otherwise, he will not be God, right?
And when "perfection" becomes a fetish and obsession at human level, it becomes dysfunctional and counterproductive. So, instead of trying to do things "perfectly," we must try to Do Things to the Very, Very, Very Best of Our Abilities.
And that is all Allah expects from us and asks us to do.
(A) And that process begins with thoroughly cleansing and purifying our Intentions and Motivations. Making sure that we fully -- perfectly? -- know and understand why we are doing what we are doing.
(B) And then it proceeds to strictly adhering to the Commandments laid out by Allah in the Qur'an on this subject.
1. Ittaqullaha Haqqa Tuqaatihi.
"Fear God Almighty the way he should be feared
and the way he deserves to be feared!"
Right! As if we know who or what Allah is and as if we also know and understand how best to fear him. How to fear him in the most "perfect" manner as it were!
Now, that being the real standard, and the only thing that really makes sense, here comes the human end of that scale:
2. Ittaqullaha Masta-ta'tum.
"Fear Allah to the best of your ability!
Fear Allah as much as you can!
Fear Allah as much as you know how to."
Now, come on, make my day! Tell me this man Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, is the author of this book, the Qur'an, from which this most incredible, amazing and perfect scale of Fearing God -- Taqwaa -- is taken.
(C) And then it faithfully embraces the teachings and model of behavior exemplified by Allah's Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, in his sayings and doings in this regard.
(D) And then it seeks out and follows the best, the latest and the most advanced level of knowledge and experience that Science has been able to produce and distill out for us.
When you do all these things, it is striving for attaining the highest level of Excellence in everything we do. No matter how many mistakes we make along the way.
It is "perfection" at the human level.
And in fact when you follow these standards faithfully, Allah's help is with you all the way. And then there comes a stage in your life when even your errors and follies are turned into virtues and accomplishments.
Ulaa-ika Yubaddilullahu Sayyi-aatihim Hasanaat.
Thus, Excellence in all things, and at all levels, is the Requirement Allah Almighty set for us.
And that is also the Model Allah's Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, taught us and gave us in practice.
No matter what we do, do the best job that we possibly can.
That is the blessed Sunnat of Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.
And as we try do that, we are under keen observation by Allah, his Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and the Believers.
Wa Quli'maloo,
Fa-Sayarallahu Amalakum,
wa Rasuluhu,
wal Mu'minoon.
Wa Sa-Turaddoona Ilaa Aalimil Ghayibi wash-Shahaadati,
Fa-Yunabbi-ukum Bi-maa Kuntum Ta'maloon.
And say, just keep doing what you are doing.
Allah will see your work.
And so will Allah's Rasul,
And so will the Believers.
And then you shall be returned to the one who knows everything about everything, and he shall let you know what it was that you were really up to.
That is living life keeping in mind the standard of Zero Error!
