Right now, a big part of the crisis in the world -- for both Muslims and non-Muslims -- is that people just don't seem to know what Islam is, both Muslims and non-Muslims.
Most of them are confused. Most of them take things for granted. And most of them keep wallowing in the same follies they fell into a long time ago.
And these are errors of thought and issues of clarity of concepts and ideas. These are not behavioral problems but problems that have to do with people's understanding of things.
So, while all the big boys are doing all kinds of big things, I have taken it upon myself to do some of the simplest and most basic things about Islam and do so with as much of a single-minded focus as I possibly can.
So, my self-imposed responsibility, and constraint and focus, right now, is to try to make ideas and concepts as clear as possible. And do so using language that is easy to understand and that, at the same time, meets the barest minimum standards of literary merit or muster.
Easy and simple to understand. And easy and fun to read. At a level and standard that would not make the votaries of English language ashamed or embarrassed.
