A Letter to a Mosque Owner in America!
(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)
Allah has given you a Masjid. What a great gift from him to a mere Mortal!
The most important thing in relation to a Masjid is Salatul Jumu'ah.
And the most important part of it is the Jumu'ah Speech called the Khutbah.
This Khutbah was an Open University to educate and civilize the world.
And to teach human beings the Lesson of Liberty at a time when the whole world was a massive ocean of Tyranny, at the hands of both Kings and Priests.
And this was when there were no public schools and no mass media and no Internet Services in the world.
The Jumu'ah Khutbah was Allah's Public Education System and Allah's Television and Internet Service to the whole world.
But Muslims have managed to turn the Jumu'ah Khutbah into an empty ritual, to be presided over by a Priest. Even though Islam has no Priests.
And even though Islam, in part came into this world, to set human beings free from the Tyranny of Priesthood.
And in about the later part of the 1970's, and continuing on into the 1980s, the Jumu'ah Khutbah in America fell in the grip of a Money-Hungry Charlatanry, who seem to be turning Islam into a Career Path.
Very quickly, and quite deftly, these Muslim Mercenaries tapped into Jumu'ah Khutbah as a Powerful and Prolific Source of Fundraising for their Purposes.
They showed up out of nowhere in all kinds of Masaajid, decked in all kinds of Ethnic and Tribal Costumes, and Jumu'ah Khutbah became their favorite and fertile hunting ground for Soliciting Muslims for money for a new cause or project every week.
So, anything you can do to free the Jumu'ah Khutbah in your Masjid from the Tyranny of Professional Priests, make it the best you can, and turn it back into a Tool of Public Service and Education that it once was, you will do, not just the Muslims, but the American People, and the entire Human Race, a great service.
Allah bless you and your family for all the wonderful things you do.
