So, you love football? Rest assured you will find football!
By the same logic, whatever else it is that you love and seek in your life, provided you do it hard enough, long enough and with enough focus, you are sure to find it.
In the same way, those who love God will find God. Except that in the case of God the likelihood of finding God increases exponentially with every little bit of effort that you spend looking for him.
For, God Almighty crowns the smallest of human efforts with the most abundant of divine rewards and bounties.
Wa Yudaa-ifu Liman Yashaa-u!
“And God Almighty doubles and multiplies
His rewards and bounties for whoever he wishes.”
And the Hadith Sharif makes that abundantly clear for even the least intelligent person among us to understand. Here is my paraphrase of parts of one such most glorious Hadith, and to me every Hadith is most glorious:
“If a human being advances toward me but one foot,
I move toward him a whole yard.
And if a human being comes to me walking at a leisurely pace,
I come to him running.”
Ya Allah, what magic words are these! Who but God would have spoken them, albeit through his Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam?
And that too a most loving and merciful and generous God? A God who has enough to give, and who is not afraid of giving.
For, this is part of what is called a Hadith Qudsi. Those are Ahaadeeth (plural for Hadith) in which Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, attributes what he says directly to God Almighty. That is what the expression Hadith Qudsi means.
In a Hadith Qudsi, Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, quotes God Almighty himself as saying the words that he speaks.
So, finding God is easier than you think, if you come to think of it.
