Pressing Need for a New Center:
Part of Dr. Pasha's Letter to a Businessman

My Dear Sir,
God Almighty Shower His Choicest Blessings on You and Your Family.
Call it what you will: Islamic Center. Cultural Center. Whatever.
Or why not simply call it an Islamic Cultural Center?
Or something else apt and appropriate -- and equally exciting? For, Allah's Deen is nothing if not the most exciting thing on earth -- and in Heaven.
But a center -- and by that I mean a beautiful building, make no mistake about it, big or small -- that will become the launching point of presenting the Word of Allah to the world.
One more time, no matter from what small and humble or faltering a beginning.
And this building, as I say, big or small, must be clean and beautiful. For, Allah's Deen is all about cleanliness and it is all beauty personified in every aspect and in every teaching.
Innallaha Yuhibbut Tawwaabeena,
Wa Yuhibbul Muta-Tahhireen!
Hadith Sharif:
Allahu Jameelun,
Yuhibbul Jamaal!
And that building -- that Center if you will -- must be located in an easily accessible and preferably though not necessarily visible place, within or close to a community that will fit the description of the Qurayish of Makkah as closely as we can find:
- smart, business-savvy, worldly-wise people;
- fairly honest and hard working people;
- with pride in themselves and their families and their work;
- and able to think for themselves for the most part;
- and capable of making quick and smart decisions for themselves;
- and with the strength of personality and character to carry them out.
Several additional things must be said in this regard:
1. In your case, work is what you do -- and all that you do. And that means everything you do, including your eating and sleeping, and going to office and slaving on your accounts and books, is all Allah's Work.
So, have no worry on that account.
2. Did you see the new posts that have been produced on IslamicSolutions.Com recently, without keeping you in mind, at least not directly?
So, in a sense, there is no Islam like business Islam. That is what I have been trying to say.
And that means, all your toil and trouble to tend to your business dealings is nothing but Islam, and nothing but what we have been calling Working for Allah.
I am yet to complete that article highlighting the momentous role played by the business executives of Qurayish in the rise and spread of Allah's Deen under the leadership of Sayyidina Muhammad, Sallall
3. Of course Allah knows best, but I have no doubt in my mind that there is an urgent and demanding place on God's earth for the kind of Center or Markaz we are talking about, from where to proclaim the Message of Allah's Deen to one and sundry.
One more time, to the best of our abilities and resources.
In America and around the world!
Allah's Deen coming directly from the radiant pages of the Qur'an.
And going back directly to the most blessed life of Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.
Proclaimed to America and the world in the most clear, direct and authentic American language, idiom and diction.
The way the language of Qur'an is: clear, direct, concise and powerful albeit Arabic.
Bi-Lisaanin Arabiyyin Mubeen!
And the way the language of Sayyidina Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, was: direct, clear, concise, overwhelming, sweet and totally disarming.
Jawaami'ul Kalim, he called his own blessed words!
And they were!
Perhaps, no people on earth today, and of course Allah knows best, deserve that message, or have a greater or more immediate and urgent need for it, than the American People.
For, Americans are, despite all that Allah has given them, including a "vost" land, as Toqueville once put it, a much abused, much lied-to, much exploited, naive and simple and almost innocent people, for whom God and his name and message still mean a great deal.
I have no doubt Allah will bless us with such a Center or Markaz, the way, Mashallah, Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed us to put in place all that New Literature for a New Era, using clear and easily readable, meaningful and simple American-English prose.
In the same way, this Center too will be, Inshallah, One of a Kind, to use that cliche. For, to be effective to any degree and in any sense, it has to be.
One-of-a-Kind: a worn-out cliche, yes, but in our case, in more instances than not, it is as wonderfully apt an expression as Allah would have it.
So, let us relax and let us get to work on it. And let us do so most urgently and with all the fervor and sense of urgency and with every ounce of energy we can muster.
For, Allah's Hour Glass is on and running for each and everyone of us, more so and faster for some of us than for some others as Allah sees fit, and the sand in the Hour Glass is running out fast, as per Allah's Decision called Qadaa and Qadar.
So, we urgently need all the funds we can get, using all the lawful and Halaal sources, to make that Center a fast and immediate and urgent reality.
And we need to mobilize all the able and thoughtful and smart and business-savvy, canny human bodies and minds, not only to bring those funds in but also to convert those funds into workable and best-of-their-kind projects and arrangements and events and activities.
For, Allah's Deen is nothing if not the best and the most perfect at any and all levels.
May Allah bless you and your family with health and wealth, and long life, and full vigor and energy, and Barakat in all the wonderful things he has conferred upon you including your Deen and Iman and Tawufiq!
And may Allah straighten out your affairs and concerns for you, as he promised in the Qur'an he would.
Yaa Ayyuhalladheena Aamanoo,
Qooloo Qawulan Sadeedaa!
Yuslih Lakum A'maalakum!
And I have always known you, Alhamdulillah and Mashallah, as a plain speaker and a straight shooter as they say in America.
At a time and in an era when Muslims seem to have almost lost those virtues, which once used to be among their defining features, characteristics and strengths.
And may God Almighty make things easy for you, as he also promised in his most glorious Qur'an he would, as he says in the Qur'an Karim:
Fa-Sa-Nuyassiruhoo Lil-Yusraa!
So, full speed ahead, let us get that Center Project off and moving and done and over with -- Bi-Idhnillah!
