Ramadan:
Month of the Qur'an [Quote - 921]

May 18, 2018

Dr. Firdaus Kamalodeen

This is Ramadan. The month of the Qur’an.

How fortunate we are that Allah has given us this month. One more time.

And he has given us the Qur’an.

And the Qur'an comes with a very clear and precise agenda for human beings. All human beings in general. And Muslims in particular.

Muslims of course have their own agenda. And Muslims everywhere are busy doing their own thing.

What passes for Muslim leadership is doing a fine job of dragging Muslims by their tail in all kinds of murky alleys. And they do all that in the name of Islam -- and Muslims.

As for us, ordinary Muslims, we must do what we must. And that to me boils down to taking the Qur’an to every Home and Heart that needs it -- and which one does not.

When you read the Qur’an, you can’t help but recognize what a sorry lot we human beings are. Not the least the Muslims.

Allah describes our various profiles in such detail -- not a thing left out and always with clear and pin-point accuracy.

At the same time, Allah has also stated what our duties and responsibilities are in this world. Why he placed us on this earth in the first place. And he has done so with most amazing clarity and precision.

May Allah make this month of Ramadan meaningful and successful for all of you and your families. And may he accept your fasting and other Ibaadaat -- plural for Ibaadat.

What else can I say?

END
