Everyone is graduating from everywhere. It is that season again.
All over the world, it is graduation season. And what a blessed, happy season it is.
In this happy graduation season, we call on the world, all people all over the world, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, and whether they are male or female, to celebrate the 1st of June every year as WORLD DAY OF EDUCATION.
Along with everything else that they celebrate.
Let us start out with June 1, 2012 as our first WORLD DAY OF GRADUATION. [...]
World Muslims and non-Muslims must celebrate 12th Rabi’ul Awwal, 1433 – 5th February, 2012 – as World Day of Qur’an for Universal Male-Female Literacy.
And they must do the same thing consistently every year thereafter – on every 12th Rabiul Awwal.
And there is a simple and yet a most powerful and convincing reason for doing so: Because it was the Qur’an that first called for universal male-female literacy.
The Qur’an did so 1400 years ago – by asking everyone everywhere, male as well as female, to read.
That is one of the greatest miracles of the Qur’an – and the very first one, if you look at it that way. [...]
Dr. Pasha has issued a call to world Muslims and non-Muslims to celebrate 12th Rabi’ul Awwal, 1433, as World Day of Qur’an for Universal Male-Female Literacy.
Dr. Pasha said: “It was the Qur’an that called for universal male-female literacy 1400 years ago.”
“Every right thinking person should be shocked and horrified at the terrible reality of female servitude in Afghanistan. But so also should every right thinking person be shocked and horrified at the equally terrible state of male bondage, abuse and exploitation that is rife throughout the killing fields of Afghanistan – and many other places around the world.” (Dr. Pasha)
