As I have always maintained, mine is a three-piece-suit Islam, even though the waistcoat has pretty much gone out of vogue these days.

Among other things, my Islam demands excellent working command of the English language, as I believe English to be Allah's and Islam's language, just like any other language in the world.

That is why I embrace Shakespeare, Milton and Keats with the same fervor I embrace Hafiz, Ghalib and Iqbal. [...]

"It never ceases to amaze me. How Islam came into this world, from our point of view, 1400 years ago.

That too in the middle of a barren desert cut off from everywhere else in the world.

And on top of all that, it was delivered and modeled by a man who was a complete stranger to all formal training and education.

And yet, after the passage of 1400 years, Islam is as fresh today as tomorrow’s morning dew.

I look at Islam’s teachings and never cease to marvel how relevant they are to today’s complex and fast-paced world.

I ask myself, which one of these will I change or improve. My answer invariably is: Not one of them!

There is not a single thing I will change about Islam.

That is how perfect, complete and fresh Islam is even today, after the passage of all these long centuries."

“Thomas Jefferson did something not too many people seem to have done: He took the Gospels and took from them what Jesus (May Allah Bless Him!) had said and done and pretty much left everything else. The result in part was something like a latter-day Qur’an in the English language.

Shouldn’t that tell us something about the interrelationship between these two divine books and about the real life and mission of Jesus Christ on earth?

If you want to check it out for yourself, and I suggest you do, the Jefferson’s book is called The Jefferson Bible or the Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth.” (Dr. Pasha)

“Sometimes I wonder if Modernity isn’t simply Islam kidnapped and camouflaged to hide its true identity – with some judicious distortions thrown into the equation. And then there are those who argue with a straight face that Islam is the very antithesis of Modernity.” (Dr. Pasha)
