There are all kinds of people who talk about safety. Theirs and other people's. So does Islam.
But also, at the same time, Islam does something serious and meaningful about it. Islam gives people a formula that they can recite, at all times of day and night, and that will give them the protection and safety that they need.
And that formula consists of God's own pure and unfailing words.
It is called Aayatul Kursi, and it is in the Qur'an, which is 255th Aayat of Surah 2, Surah Al-Baqarah.
And it begins with the words "Allahu Laa Ilaaha Illaa Huw..." (2:255).
Keep reading it, Allah will protect you from all harm.
Call it a Wird, or call it a Wazweefah.

Crime in our society continues to rise. And so long as anyone of us is unsafe, we are all unsafe. And when one of us is robbed, raped, kidnapped, mugged or murdered, we all are. In Islam, unjust taking of a single life is tantamount to killing all of humanity.
So, let us start a collective process of rethinking and analysis and let us see if we can, at the end of the day, emerge with a solution to this most egregious social problem - the curse of crime in our society - that is staring us in the face and enveloping us from every side.
So here it goes!
Question: How to work to avoid becoming a victim of crime and how to escape the fate of being reduced to a sad statistic?
Recite these Prayers as often as you can, or at least AM-PM - morning and evening (after Fajr and after Maghrib prayers) - and Allah will bless and protect you. But make sure you do so with utmost belief, faith, sincerity and humility! And make sure you keep your body, mind, place, clothes and speech clean and you eat and drink only what God has made clean, good and lawful!
