Three Slogans Every Muslim Must Learn and Teach

(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)
There are three simple and yet very important slogans every Muslim -- individual, group, organization and society -- must learn and articulate; believe in firmly and uncompromisingly; and teach every new generation everywhere.
And those three slogans -- or thoughts or ideas are:
- Democratize Muslims!
- Deprofessionalize Islam!
- Universalize Education -- For Both Men and Women!
Of course, life is not -- it should not be -- about sloganeering. Certainly, not about empty, cliched, meaningless sloganeering, which often aims at nothing better than fooling people. And seeks little beyond self-aggrandizement and personal profit or advantage.
Even though sharp and clear thinking must always guide life at all stages, especially the life of a Muslim.
For, Islam is all about clear thinking.
And yet, thoughts by themselves are of little value, no matter how important, profound or clear they are, until they are expressed in precise, clear and powerful words. With clarity and focus -- in the form of succinctly formulated phrases and sentences.
Sound Bites is what I suppose some people may call them these days, even though it is not quite the same thing. But Sound Bites is what drives today's media world -- from Television to Twitter.
And yet at the same time, it is we the Muslims that gave the world two of the best and most meaningful, powerful and revolutionary slogans or statements it has had for 1400 years.
It was Islam that did that.
And it was Qur'an that did that.
And the Qur'an made these two slogans household beliefs, thoughts and expressions -- Articles of Faith -- throughout the world, throughout the past 14 centuries.
Because these two thoughts, beliefs, arguments, assertions, statements constitute the very foundation of Islam:
- Laa Ilaaha Illallah!
- Muhammad Rasulullah!
Paraphrase:
"1. No God But Allah!
2. Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, Is the Messenger of Allah!"
They are the twin-engines that run this world.
And the following three slogans embody the larger and some of the more practical meaning, message and implications of these two eternal divine truths and slogans of “Laa Ilaaha Illallah, Muhammad Rasulullah!” in every age, place and culture.
And those three slogans, once again, are:
- Democratize Muslims!
- Deprofessionalize Islam!
- Universalize Education -- For Both Men and Women!
