What Do You Really Want Out of Life? [Quote – 1024]

Jun 7, 2020

There is a Hadith in Bukhari Sharif. It is Hadith Number One. And it goes like this:

Innamal A'maalu Binniyyah!

And it is, like every other Hadith of Sayyidina Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, the most beautiful thing on earth. Beauty and earthly perfection that you can see with your own eyes.

And one broad Paraphrase of that most beautiful Hadith Sharif -- and all Translations from one language to another are nothing but Paraphrases -- could be as follows:

"Everything in life depends on the Human Intentions
and Motivations from which it proceeds."

And the Hadith Sharif continues:

Wa Likulli Imra-in Ma Nawaa!

Paraphrase:

"All anyone will get out of what they do in life
is what they actually set out to get."

In a sense, you will reap what you sow.

Aayat Karimah outlining the same broad notion:

Wa Layisa Lil-Insaani Illa Ma Sa'a!

Paraphrase:

"Every human being will get out of life only
what they actually strive for. Nothing more,
nothing less."

So, I suggest we all sit down, every day or at least once a week, and try to figure out what it is that we really want.

And what it was that we were really trying to do and accomplish that day, or the past week.

What exactly are, and were, we seeking and wishing and desiring and working for?

There is no training in Islam, or in life in general, for anyone better than that.
