What Number God?
Dr. Pasha
(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)
Here is some simple math for all of us: 1, 2, 3.
My question to you is: What are your most important priorities in life – first, second, third, and so on?
You will say your Priority Number One is your Family.
I couldn’t agree more.
Or maybe you will say your Priority Number One is your Education.
And I will say: Aameen!
And I will say: Hey, more power to you, Islam is all about education.
So, is all of human life if you ask me – Muslim or non-Muslim.
So, Education as your Priority Number One is just fine. At least in my book it is.
And I know in God’s Book, the Qur’an, it is.
So, on with Education – Muslims and non-Muslims! Let Education reign and rock!
And let darkness and ignorance, hate and prejudice, fear and superstition, all take their leave and be gone.
Or maybe you will say your Priority Number One is your business and your job.
And I will say: Of course, how can it be otherwise?
Your job, and or your business, is your connection, not just with yourself and your family and loved ones, but with your God. So, how can you go wrong by putting it in the first place?
Job, business, family, education – arrange them how you will.
And prioritize them how you feel you must.
You will be delighted to know that you are right no matter how you mix and shuffle them.
But after that what, that is my question to you.
Who figures on the scale of your priorities after job, business, education and family? That is what I want to know.
Where do you place God on this scale?
Can you make room for God after these things – I mean job, business, education and family? I mean immediately after them?
And do so with full honesty and integrity and without cheating?
And without trying to squeeze in all kinds of others before him while no one is watching – or even when you are in public view?
That is all I am asking: What Number God?
Your answer will tell us who you are and what you do.
It will also tell us why our world is the way it is – both Muslim and non-Muslim.
So, it is pretty simple and straightforward math up to now. However, the equation changes a bit down the road.
For, now, in this New Math, 1, 2, 3 all add up to one.
That is how Hazrat Ibrahim, Alaihis Salam, did his counting.
For Abraham, Alaihis Salam, the great Prophet and Patriarch to whom Jews, Christians and Muslims all defer, God was at Number One.
However, for him, God was also at number two and at number three.
So, for Hazrat Ibrahim, Alaihis Salam, God was first as well as last.
For him, God was the beginning as well as the end – as well as all else in between.
So, this is a different kind of math: It is math a la Abraham, Alaihis Salam.
Using that math – and using that equation – Abraham, Alaihis Salam changed the world – forever.
And God made him his friend.
Wattakhadhallahu Ibraahima khaleela!
And three of the most important “religions” of the world acknowledge him as their leader to this day – after the passage of maybe more than 3000 years to his death.
Jews, Muslims and Christians can fight all they want among themselves, but when it comes to Abraham, they will say: Oh, yeah, of course, he is our man and we love him.
So, that is what happens when you get your math right, following the Abraham equation of 1 + 2 + 3 all equal 1.
Job, family, education all boil down to one simple and over-riding and all-consuming priority: God Almighty.
None before him or after him and none above him or below him: Huwal awwalu wal aakhiru, wazzaahiru wal baatin!
It is him – God Almighty – from beginning to end: first as well as last; what meets the eye as well as what is invisible to the eye.
